Sharda University, established in 2009 under the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature Act No. 14 of 2009, is a premier private university recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) and empowered to confer degrees under Section 22(1) of the UGC Act, 1956. It is part of the renowned Sharda Group of Institutions, founded by Pradeep Kumar Gupta and Yatendra Kumar Gupta. The university’s 63-acre modern campus in Greater Noida attracts students from over 95 countries, reflecting its strong global presence and multicultural environment.

Accredited with an ‘A+’ grade by NAAC and approved by bodies such as PCI, BCI, COA, AIU, DCI, NMC, and NCTE, Sharda University stands among the top institutions in India for academic excellence and innovation. At the doctoral level, Sharda University offers a PhD programme in 43 specialisations under both full-time and part-time modes. Admission to the PhD programme requires a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) or an equivalent CGPA from a recognised Indian or foreign institution. Selection is based on an entrance test conducted by the university or a valid UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, GATE, SET, or UET score, followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The minimum duration of the PhD programme is three years, and the application fee is INR 1,500.

PhD specialisations include Biotechnology, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Business Management, Finance, Marketing, Law, Political Science, Sociology, Architecture, Design, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Forensic Science, Nutrition and Dietetics, Education, Microbiology, Dental Sciences, and many others.

The university’s application process for 2025 involves online registration, filling out the form, uploading documents, and paying the INR 1,500 application fee. Required documents include mark sheets of Class 10 and 12, Bachelor’s and Master’s degree certificates, ID proof, photographs, and proof of payment.

Beyond its doctoral offerings, Sharda University conducts admissions for UG and PG programmes through the Sharda University Admission Test (SUAT) and also accepts scores from national exams such as JEE, NEET, CLAT, CAT, MAT, XAT, and CUET. The B.Tech programme, the university’s flagship, is offered in 27 specialisations with fees ranging from INR 7.76 to 12.55 lakhs. Sharda provides up to 100% scholarships through its Scholastic Aptitude Test (SUSAT) and dedicated financial aid for international students.

In the 2024 placement drive, Sharda achieved 100% placements for MBA students and 91% for B.Tech graduates, with 600+ companies visiting the campus. The highest package reached INR 1.6 crore per annum, offered by leading recruiters like Amazon, Cognizant, NTT Data, Tech Mahindra, Atos, and Audi.
