About Us

About the University
Established in 2005 under the Lovely Professional University Act (Punjab Act 25 of 2005), LPU is located in Phagwara, Jalandhar, Punjab. Spread across 600 acres, the campus is home to more than 30,000 students and 4,000 faculty members from across India and over 3,000 international students representing 50+ countries.

LPU is approved by UGC, UGC-DEB, NCTE, PCI, COA, BCI, ITPI, and ICAR, and is a proud member of global organizations such as AIU, IAU, and ACU (UK). The university has been accredited with an “A++” grade by NAAC, the highest possible rating, reflecting its commitment to academic excellence.

Admission Process

Admission to Lovely Professional University (LPU) is primarily based on the LPUNEST (Lovely Professional University National Entrance and Scholarship Test). Candidates can apply online for Diploma, UG, PG, and Ph.D. programmes through the official LPU website.

For select courses, national-level exams like JEE Main, NEET, CAT, MAT, XAT, CLAT, CUET, GATE, and others are also accepted. The admission process typically includes:

Online Registration on the official LPU portal.

Submission of Application Form with academic details and documents.

Appearing for LPUNEST / National Exam.

Counselling or Interview Round (for specific programmes).

Offer of Admission & Fee Payment to confirm enrollment.

Scholarships of up to ₹9.5 lakhs are awarded based on LPUNEST performance, national exam scores, or previous academic merit.

Minimum Requirements

For admission to Lovely Professional University (LPU), candidates must meet the following minimum eligibility requirements:

Undergraduate (UG) Programmes:
Pass in 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with the required subjects and minimum 50% aggregate marks (varies by course).

Postgraduate (PG) Programmes:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with at least 50–55% aggregate marks from a recognized university.

Ph.D. Programmes:
Master’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (or equivalent grade).
A 5% relaxation in marks is provided to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled/EWS categories.

Admission is subject to qualifying LPUNEST or applicable national-level entrance exams such as JEE Main, NEET, CAT, MAT, XAT, CLAT, CUET, or GATE, depending on the programme.
