Chitkara University began with a vision to redefine higher education when the Chitkara Educational Trust established its Punjab campus in 2002 along the Chandigarh–Patiala National Highway. This vision took a major leap in 2010 when the Punjab State Legislature granted it full university status under The Chitkara University Act. Today, the University stands as one of the most respected private institutions in North India. Recognised under Sections 2(f) and 22(1) of the UGC Act, 1956, Chitkara University has the authority to award degrees across a wide range of disciplines. Its 70-acre campus enjoys a prime location, comfortably accessible from Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Ambala and Patiala. 📋 Admission Process
The admission process at the university begins with an online application where candidates submit their basic details, academic records and preferred program. Once the application is reviewed, eligible applicants are shortlisted based on the minimum academic criteria set for each course. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for further evaluation, which can include a personal interview, written test or counselling session depending on the program requirements. Final selection is made after verifying all documents and ensuring that the candidate meets the eligibility guidelines. Once selected, applicants receive an offer of admission and are required to confirm their seat by completing the fee payment and document submission within the given timeline. The entire process is designed to be transparent, student-friendly and aligned with the academic standards of the university.
✅ Minimum Requirements
Minimum Eligibility Requirements: UG Courses: Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with at least 45–50% marks (depending on the program). B.Tech/B.E: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics + a valid JEE Main score. B.Pharm: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics. PG Courses: A Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized university. M.Tech: Graduation in Engineering/Technology + a valid GATE score. M.Pharm: B.Pharm with a valid GPAT score. Ph.D. Programs: Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with at least 55% marks (or 50% for reserved categories) + performance in the university entrance test/interview.
